On-Going Classes:
Adult Bible Study
Class: The Adult Sunday School class has found the Bible to be great book
as we work our way through a timeline of people and events it contains. Our
class is making a meaningful march through the Bible and marking the time line
with events and people that God has used to illustrate GodŐs message in our
lives. Come learn who the figures of the Bible are and why they are important.
God has given us only one book to read and live our life by. ItŐs a
fascinating read and our class is filled with great discussion about the
people, events and meanings the Bible contains. All ages welcome. Room 200.
Leaders: Marcus Merritt (770) 971-3554 or James White (404) 658-0051.
Parenting Class:
Parenting is as challenging as it is rewarding. The parenting and caregiver
group meets together for prayer, study, and discussion on issues related to
parenting, children and relationships. We take time to get to know each other
and tell stories about our children as well as study different parenting texts.
The group is open to single, married, and divorced parents and caregivers.
Prince of Peace Room. Leader: Talley Wells (404) 627-6756.
What's The Word?:
This class discusses current events from a faith perspective. We look at
whatŐs in the news each week, usually highlighting one or two specific news
articles, and then we discuss the issue raised in the news article in the
context of what Scripture, tradition, reason, and our own experience has to say
about it. Each lesson is self-contained; new members are welcome at any time.
Meets in Office Conference Room. Leader: Rev. Susan Allen Grady (404)
688-7501
Short Term Classes:
Spiritual Disciplines Sunday School Class:
This class will be an opportunity for interested persons to experience and explore different forms of spiritual practice in community. Spiritual Disciplines from various contexts, faith communities, and places in life will be both practiced and discussed in this class. If you are interested in implementing spiritual disciplines in your everyday life or are looking for ways to expand your current spiritual practices, come join us in the room below Chester Commons during Sunday School. We will be taking occasional field trips to other faith communities and locations. The class will begin this Sunday, October 26th, and continue for the foreseeable future.
