St. Paul UMC is looking for a Basketball Program Site Manager to work 8 Saturdays in January and February. The Manager will be required to be at the church and with the doors unlocked at 8:30am each Saturday morning, at 7:30am on Photo Day and remain until 6:00pm to lock and secure the building. This person will be responsible for court set-up before the games, goals in place, balls ready, score keepers table set-up, and chairs for spectators. They will be responsible for the church throughout the day, including gym restrooms kept neat and orderly. At the end of the day they will be responsible for storing goals, balls, chairs, clean-up and sweeping the gym, and making sure all doors are locked and secure. During the day the site manager will act as greeter and liaison between parents, coaches, referees & teams at St. Paul. The Manager will work closely with the referees to ensure games start on time, remain on schedule throughout the day, and all games are conducted in a professional and peaceful manner conducive to the programs mission for children. St. Paul Information sheets will be provided but knowledge of programs and welcoming personality will be expected. The Manager will maintain a communication log in the gym for comments, incidents and concerns during games and practices and constant communication with the program director is expected. Basketball Program Referees
St. Paul UMC is looking for Basketball Program Referees to officiate games for all age groups. (1 referee per game, 1 game per hour) The Referees will be required to be at the church 10 minutes prior to the start of their scheduled game and they will work closely with the Site Manager to ensure games start on time, remain on schedule throughout the day, and all games are conducted in a professional and peaceful manner conducive to the program's mission for children. The referees will be required to be knowledgeable of all league rules and ensure all games are played in a safe and good-spirited manner. Referees will also be responsible for gathering the teams before the game to determine which team, coach, or volunteer will lead the prayer before the games.
